Egg Live
A live, cooperative learning platform for companies. I have led its frontend since 2019.
What Egg does
Egg trains company teams to work with AI. Its starting point is blunt: companies have to integrate AI and do not know how, and leading in the AI era is not about adopting tools, it is about automating processes. Egg’s answer is to make teams do that work live, on real challenges from their own business, instead of watching a course.
The platform has three pieces:
- LIVE sessions. Synchronous meetings where teams work through real challenges autonomously, on camera, together.
- Team AI. An AI that assembles, guides and manages the teams during the session, with the explicit goal of improving how the company cooperates.
- Sync Index. A real-time measure of each team’s cooperation and its progress toward the objective.
The current program, AI Talent Shift, runs as eight live sessions in three phases: evaluate where the company actually stands, work with AI on discovery, prototyping and design, then build, connect, refine and govern agents that automate real processes. The bet underneath all of it is that cooperation is the base of success, and that the companies that learn to cooperate with AI are the ones that will still be around.
What I do there
I joined in 2019 and built the product UI from scratch. Since then I have led the frontend: a design system built on Tailwind and shadcn/ui, a team of three engineers, and the loop with product and design, from technical validation and feature discovery to shipping. A lot of the job is deciding what is worth building before deciding how.
Live video is the hard part. A session is many people on camera at the same time, split into teams, on devices and connections nobody controls. Years of that teach you about scale, concurrency, performance and low-end hardware in a way no benchmark does. Production runs on AWS and Google Cloud, with Sentry on watch. Lately the work has been integrating the Zoom Video Web SDK for our own video conferencing and bringing AI into the platform itself.
